Sharing knowledge through articles

River-Awa Connect to your awa

Rangitaki is a free to use blogging style tool where members can write, read and learn of the various views and stories.

The categories have been created to cater for Pepeha related articles, Te Ao Māori, and Māori Land resources to share everything from basic stories and photographs to videos and other social platforms.

Pepeha is how Māori introduce themselves and it identifies who we are, where we're from and where we belong. Although Pepeha is a Māori concept in the way it is structured, everyone has a pepeha which links them to their ancestors.

The stories that connect you to your waka, your hapū and iwi are able to tell you the stories of migration, connections to other families and wider iwi groups.  Places like your maunga, awa and marae are important in identifying where our tupuna and whanau lived life and had experiences that also link them to their different whānau.

MLI uses a blog to enable members to post articles and stories that can be viewed by others or stored for personal use.  You can tell your stories, add your photos and other media and the categories we use to organise the blog are Pepeha related to enable relevant articles to be found easily:

All of Aotearoa is Whenua Māori (Māori Land), Papatūānuku gives birth to all things including humankind, and provides the physical and spiritual basis for life.

When you register you are asked for a legacy person.  This person will receive access/copies of all your articles and submitted content should anything happen to you.

Being connected and familiar with who you are and where your from can be maintained through stories, photos, pictures and waiata (singing).  The journey to discovering who we are and where we're from is an important part of building our sense of identity and belonging especially for those who for whatever reason, have become distanced from their whānau or tūrangawaewae.

When you subscribe to the blog, we will send you an e-mail when there are new updates on the site so you wouldn't miss them.
